FAQ

Why enroll in the Rydan Workshop?
We are a tight-knit, industry driven, online school whose goal is to provide quality CG instruction regardless of geography. We offer interactive online instruction available to you in the comfort of your own home. All our instructors have industry experience and are leaders in their craft. Our courses are intensive, adapt to current industry trends, and will get you the practical real world experience required to be successful in this highly competitive field.
How are these courses delivered?
Each course is run through a live online classroom environment. Students meet up with the instructor and teaching assistant once a week, at a given time for a live session. During that session there will be demos, critiques, lectures and 1 on 1 Q&A with the instructor. At the end of each class, homework is assigned. The cycle continues upon completion of the course.
How often does the class meet?
See above.
What if I miss a class?
Each class is recorded during the session and can be replay at any time during the course duration. So if you miss a class or need a refresher, you can refer back to the specific class.
What are the enrollment requirements?
You must have a computer with an internet connection (capable of the software requirements), microphone/headset or webcam and provide your own software (many of which offer free trial versions for education purposes). Basic computer literacy is required. No professional experience is required. A portfolio is a great way for evaluating course suitability. Have goals, be prepared to work and you’ll do well.
How much homework is there?
That’s up to you. Homework is optional. The more you engage your instructor with work for critique, the more benefit you will get from one on one feedback. Students who take advantage of this are the most successful in their results.
How many students are in each class?
Each class has a maximum of 15 spots.
Are there registration deadlines?
No. Courses run on 8 week intervals and applications are processed in the order they are received. Early registration is advised in order to secure a spot before the course fills up, and to take advantage of any early registration discount offers currently running. Please see our Apply Now page for details.
What if I have any additional questions?

How do I pay?
We use Paypal.
What is the refund policy?
The Rydan Workshop reserves the right to cancel or terminate courses at its sole discretion. In the event of a course being canceled prior to commencement, the Rydan Workshop will refund students in full. Students may cancel their enrollment up to 24 hours after the first lecture and receive a full refund. In the event of ‘mid-course’ termination Rydan will refund monies equal to the proportion of the course that has not been delivered, which is determined by the end date of the last lecture and the time of notification to cancel the course. If the student provides notice of cancellation is within 24 hours after the first lecture, a full refund will be granted. If the student provides notice of cancellation within 24 hours after the second lecture, refunds will be prorated minus a 10% cancellation fee. Student cancellations received 24 hours after the second lecture of the course will not be eligible for refunds.
