Introduction to Zbrush with David Lam

Prerequisites: Basic exposure to 3d applications.

Required Tools: Wacom Tablet, ZBrush, Photoshop (optional), 3d modeling package (optional).

Course Overview: This course is designed to provide students a basic familiarity of the Zbrush environment and will provide practical real world case studies of how Zbrush is used in a production environment. The class will include live demos and feedback will be given via paintovers and modeling over student work. Homework will be given after each class, and students are expected to show progress for a weekly review.

Week 1: Interface and Navigation.

Week 2: Overview of Sculpting in ZBrush

Week 3: Organic vs Hard Surface modeling

  • image planes for modeling

Week 4: Texturing a character using Zbrush.
